Brochure Websites. What to Consider.

Brochure Web Designers Donegal

In order to design and develop a brochure website that perfectly represents your business, consider the following.

1. Objectives and Purpose

What is the primary goal of the website? Do you want to showcase your services, provide information about your business, collect leads, or something else? This will help guide the overall structure of the website.

Target Audience: Who are you trying to reach? This could be potential customers, clients, or partners. Knowing your audience will help align the design with the right look and feel that attracts your target audience.

2. Website Content

Text: Think about the copy you’d like on each page of the website, such as:

Homepage: A brief overview of what you do, your key selling points, and any calls to action (e.g., “Contact us today,” “Learn more”).

AboutUs: Information about your company, mission, and values.

Services/Products: A list or description of your main services or products.

Contact Information: Your address, phone number, email, and any social media links.

FAQs: If relevant, a section to answer, see frequently asked questions.

Call to Action: What do you want visitors to do when they visit your site? (e.g., “Get in touch,” “Request a quote,” “Sign up for our newsletter”)

There is a difference between everyday text and web content. We provide a service to optimise your copy for the web. See Web Content Writing 101.

3. Design Preferences

Brand Guidelines: Do you have existing brand assets like logos, fonts, and color schemes? If so, please share them with me so I can ensure the website aligns with your brand identity.

Style and Look: Do you have a specific design style in mind (e.g., clean and minimal, bold and modern, classic and professional)? You can also provide links to websites you like as examples.

Layout: What kind of structure do you envision? For example:

  • A single-page layout (scrolling website). This is OK if this is for a stand alone promo or landing page associated with your main website but as your main website, in terms of SEO, I do not recommend this. You ideally want a reasonable amount of high quality content spread over several pages.
  • Multi-page site with different sections (e.g., Home, About, Services, Contact)

4. Website Functionality

Navigation Structure: What pages would you like the site to have? A basic brochure website might include:

  • Homepage
  • About Page
  • Services/Products Page(s)
  • Testimonials (if applicable)
  • Contact Us

Contact Forms: Do you need a contact form for visitors to reach out to you directly from the website?

Map Integration: Do you need a map for your business location (Google Maps)?

Social Media Links: Should we integrate links to your social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)?

Newsletter Sign-Up: Would you like to add a form for visitors to sign up for a newsletter or mailing list?

5. Content and Media

Images: Do you have high-quality photos of your products, services, or office space? If you don’t have these yet, I can suggest some stock image options or help you source professional images.

Videos: Do you want to include any videos on the site (e.g., a company intro video or product demos)?

Custom Icons and Graphics: If your website will feature any icons or custom graphics.

6. Technical Details

Domain and Hosting: Do you already have a domain secured? We can help you decide on the most suitable TLD(s), (.ie | .com | .co.uk etc) and can offer reliable and secure hosting. Even a well crafted, visually appealing website will frustrate your users if you choose low quality hosting. Never skip on this.

Mobile Responsiveness: A brochure website should look great on both desktop and mobile devices. We ensure the design is fully responsive, but if you have any specific requirements for mobile views, let us know.

7. SEO and Analytics

SEO Requirements: If you want to improve your website’s visibility on search engines, we implement SEO best practices on launch, as standard. Take some time and decide which keywords and key phrases that you wish to rank well for.

Google Analytics: Do you want to track website traffic with Google Analytics? If so, we can integrate this for you so you can monitor visitor behavior.

8. Timeline and Budget

Deadline: When do you need the website completed? Is there’s a specific event or launch date in mind. Consider testing time in your deadline, to approve the design and or have any edits completed.

Budget: We provide an estimate based on the scope of the project. If you have a specific budget in mind, it’s helpful to know so we can suggest solutions that fit within your range.
